GERTRUDE STEIN ARTISTS IN THE KINDNESS OF HEAVEN. Bob Hamilton was born and raised in Allison Park, Pennsylvania. His home was known as Stone Oaks, and in order to fund Bob's future college expenses they built a miniature golf course on the property. This golf course, also known as Stone Oaks, was well-known in Pittsburgh, and many local celebrities and sports figures frequented the course. His mother was an artist, and encouraged Bob's interest in art.?Bob attended Mercersburg Prep school, and took his first journey south to attend Catawba College in Salisbury, North Carolina. There he played on the football team and made many lifelong friends. Following graduation, Bob went into the sales training program at Armco, and spent his career in the steel industry. This led to the eventual formation of his own company, in which he acted as an independent manufacturer’s rep selling perforated metal, woven mesh, and custom rolled form sections.?Bob married his love Beth in 1961, and they have three children, Amy, Anne, and Meg, as well as seven grandchildren. They moved to Roswell in 1974, and became very active in the community, including Roswell United Methodist Church, Roswell Women's Club, and several local charitable organizations. Bob retired in 2008, and began the training and practice necessary to pursue his passion, art.
